Battling Ovarian Cancer: A Survivor's Story

Lorrie maintains followup care

Lorrie has been free of cancer since her first tumor and has even passed the 10-year mark that signifies a much brighter outlook for her future. Being 10 years cancer-free dramatically increases the likelihood that someone will live on without cancer recurring. Though Lorrie is a survivor, ovarian cancer always leaves its mark. She still needs to go to her doctor's appointments every 6 months to check whether any recurrence has cropped up. She will have to do this for the rest of her life. However, Lorrie feels that this is a small price to pay after her victory against such a serious illness.
