It Was More than a Rash: It was Breast Cancer

Cordts has seen some improvement, but the cancer is aggressive

Due to the fact that IBC is aggressive, treatment usually involves a combination of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. In Cordts’s case, the cancer metastasized to her spine, causing her excruciating back pain. Her doctors gave her a prognosis of 3-5 years. She is undergoing radiation therapy to slow down the progression of her disease, as well as a PET scan every three months to determine if the cancer has spread. For now, her cancer has seen improvement in her breast and bones.
