After the woman has gone through treatment and her ovarian cancer has regressed, the doctors put their preserved ovaries back in and they are not infertile due to their treatment. This is the same idea except it will work on patients whose ovaries were damaged due to their treatment.
The artificial ovaries are still in the prototype stage, and more testing has to be done to see if these ovaries will actually be able to sustain the egg development commonly found in the process of pregnancy. Still, it is somewhat a relief knowing that doctors are tackling this issue as so many women who want to have children are prevented from doing so due to their surviving through ovarian cancer.
