How Cannabis Can Stop the Progression of Metastatic Breast Cancer

In a study conducted on mice and rats, cannabinoids were shown to protect against the development of certain cancer tumors. Cannabinoids are compounds of cannabis which include delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabinol, CBD, cannabichromene, cannabigerol, tetrahydrocannabivarin and delta-8-THC. CBD was mentioned at the beginning of this article and is known for its pain reducing ability, anti-inflammatory effects and anti-anxiety qualities without the high that THC produces.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, an in vitro study of the effects of CBD showed cell death in breast cancer tumors. CBD inhibited the survival of both estrogen receptor positive and estrogen receptor negative breast cancers.
