Research Reveals 10 Silent Ovarian Cancer Symptoms

9. Constipation, diarrhea, and other bowel issues

Part of the reason that women with ovarian cancer get diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome so frequently is because both cause very similar changes to the bowels of the women affected.

In addition to abdominal bloating and pain, you may experience either diarrhea or constipation. Sometimes they may alternate. The need to defecate may come on suddenly rather than slowly. Also, it may feel as if you have not completely evacuated your bowels after using the toilet.

This may be caused by the mass of the ovarian cancer pushing against your bowels, confusing your body’s biofeedback mechanisms.
