Research Shows Physical Activity Eases Chemo Brain for Breast Cancer Survivors

How was the data collected?

Before initiation of the study, all women wore an accelerometer on their hips for one week in order to measure and compare physical activity levels during the beginning and the end of the study.

The researchers divided the women into two groups: 43 women were enrolled in a 3-month exercise program customized to each woman’s abilities and interests and 44 women were enrolled in a 3-month control program focusing on emails relating to women’s health, stress levels, healthy eating, and overall brain health.

At the time of the study, data was collected to provide feedback and encourage engagement in at no less than 150 minutes of moderate to strenuous physical exercise per week.
