Researchers Get Closer to Ovarian Cancer Screening

Earliest detection is the goal

Chowdhury and fellow researchers hope to determine whether such individuals are more prone to developing the disease than others and why. “This means that we don’t know which samples are from people who eventually became patients with cancer,” stated Chowdhury. The next step would be to send the gathered data to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where the appointed researchers will match it and inform Chowdhury and his team whether their predictions were accurate. “The goal is to really come up with a test that can predict cancer years before it’s obvious,” said Chowdhury.
