Study Says CPAP Treatment Could Help Boost Women’s Libido, But Not Men's

Women who used their CPAP machine properly had significant improvements in their sex lives.

After a year of observation, the team found that women who used the CPAP mask properly showed an increase of 1 to 2 points on the scale. Similarly, men showed improvements, but not in a way that could be considered significant.

“We don’t have a complete answer why yet. The male finding is different from past studies, which is why it surprised us. One possibility is that past studies have looked at men with sleep apnea who had a pre-stated dysfunction, so maybe those men were worse off at the start and had more room for improvement,” says Dr. Jara.
