How relationships can heal
If you have a partner you can trust, you are already ahead. While cancer and surgery can negatively impact your sexual life, there is evidence that having a satisfying relationship is more of an indicator of sexual satisfaction.
In other words, if you have someone who is a good caretaker and understands your sexual issues, their impact will be beneficial and offset the negative effects of the cancer and treatment. For this to occur, you must have good communication with your partner, and they have to be willing to work with your issues.
Intimacy with a caring partner will help you heal physically, sexually, and emotionally.
