Reasons for delayed surgery
Out of the patients in the group that waited over 42 days, 56 had a delayed time to surgery and 65 had a delayed time to chemotherapy. For thirty of the patients, time to surgery and time to chemotherapy both experienced delays. Chemotherapy-related toxicity, organizational shortcomings, medical consultation and evaluation for operability were all among the reasons offered for delaying surgery.
