The Most Common Breast Cancer Myths Busted

Wearing a bra causes breast cancer

For a while, women were misinformed that simply wearing a bra could increase breast cancer risk. The idea was that the tightness of bras put pressure on lymph nodes, restricting drainage of toxins and causing cancer. Women everywhere were fearful to wear bras because of this rumor, which turns out to be nothing more than a rumor. The American Cancer Society states that there is absolutely no evidence that bras cause breast cancer. Lymph actually drains up into the armpits rather than down towards the underwire. Moreover, there’s a research study proving this. They found that there’s no relationship between any type of bra-wearing habit and breast cancer.
