The Stages of Breast Cancer Explained

Treatment of stage 3 cancer is variable. Some people might need surgery, others will need chemotherapy and radiation as well. Some cases do best with hormone or targeted treatments similar to stage 4 cancer. Others might need some chemo to shrink the tumor prior to surgery. Often times, the affected lymph nodes will have to be treated either with surgical removal or radiation.
