For Some Women, Survival Doesn't Justify Traveling for Ovarian Cancer Treatment

The need for further research

Besides employment status and health perception, researchers could not find any other significant differences in terms of demographics, psychosocial factors, or location in women who were willing to travel and those who weren't. The scientists feel that they need to investigate this question further because it's important to figure out what's keeping patients from traveling far for the care that they need. It's the first step to finding ways to help them get to their treatment appointments, and ultimately lives could be saved if we can help those who live in rural communities easier access to the care that they need.
