For Some Women, Survival Doesn't Justify Traveling for Ovarian Cancer Treatment

Those more likely to travel are those who have more time

Amongst these groups, researchers tried to figure out what factors may be associated with someone's willingness to travel for care. Turns out that more women who didn't have to work and felt healthier were the ones who were more willing to travel. This makes sense since you need time and energy to travel long distances regularly. However, it's worrisome that some of the more sick women may not be willing to drive or fly to get the care they need. It may be that these women actually need the centralized care the most, especially if they have a particularly advanced disease.
