What Women of Color Must Know About Lupus

More research is needed to give us more answers

Lupus is complicated in anyone and especially in women of color. More research is needed to find an understanding of why non-white women have lupus much more than white patients. Discrimination, poverty, and genetic susceptibility are only a few of the reasons for higher incidents of lupus in non-white women. In the meantime, they need as much care, understanding, and research as any other group in the United States.
