In the US, Sharlynn Tuohy, Director of Rehabilitation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, tells us that physical therapy is not used as much as it could be in the treatment of cancer. She notes the increase in cancer survivors summons the call to help patients maintain their strength and their ability to live life to their greatest possible capacity. She also advocates for physical therapy during the treatment period and into the recovery phase.
