Breast Cancer, Infertility, and Freezing Eggs

Egg freezing: An overview

Scientific advances in reproductive medicine have opened the door for women to undergo successful pregnancies post-treatment. Egg freezing is growing in popularity, even among women who do not have cancer. Women choose to freeze their eggs for a variety of personal reasons, but all do so with the goal of taking control of their reproduction and creating more opportunities for successful pregnancy. Whatever the reason, the procedure is growing increasingly common. By 2018, it’s estimated that 76,000 women will freeze their eggs. Egg freezing is a great way to increase the chance of having a successful pregnancy after undergoing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.
