Mammogram Recommendations: Who To Listen To

What the American Cancer Society says

The American Cancer Society (ACS) says that women with average-risk of developing breast cancer should initiate yearly screening at no later than 45 years of age with the option to start at age 40. At age 55 they should be given the option to switch to screening every other year, but can remain on yearly screening if desired. They also say that regular mammograms should continue as long as the woman is healthy.
