Triple-negative breast cancers are the least common and verydangerous
Higher levels of EDB-FN are likely to signify triple-negative breast cancers, which are the least common. They are not fueled by estrogen, progesterone, or a protein called HER2, all of which may fuel other breast cancers. This means that they are more likely to not stay localized within the breast.
These cancers also do not respond to the same medications which are often used to treat the more common types of breast cancers.
