A major difference between PCOS and ovarian cancer is the age at which it hits. As mentioned, PCOS can occur in girls as young as eleven years old, while ovarian cancer is most commonly only present in those over fifty-five. What this means is that those who are aware of their PCOS at a young age should be constantly diligent in checking for signs of ovarian cancer, and getting screened regularly, as detection in an early stage drastically increases the likelihood of successfully battling the disease.
