Baroness Morgan says that this new step could be especially helpful in monitoring metastatic breast cancer in the useful blood test. Normally, once breast cancer has spread from the breast, doctors have a difficult time taking tumor samples. These new liquid biopsies are less invasive and also could potentially give a much more accurate picture of the genetic changes that happen in a patient's tumor so that better decisions about treatment options can be made.
