As Woods says, "many women live in fear of their breast cancer returning." This new way to more accurately identify women who are at high risk of breast cancer returning could help to formulate a proactive plan while it could help alleviate the stress and fear from women who are at a lower risk of their breast cancer returning.

Furthermore, Woods suggests that this study has helped to open up the doors for more research on how the immune system and breast cancer are linked. More research may be needed to help formulate a better plan to identify which patients could benefit the most from the combination of this immune tool with other diagnostic tests and tools.
