Get to know Anesthesiologist & Pain Management Specialist Dr. Robert M. Felden, who serves patients in Massillon, Canton and Orrville, Ohio.

Dr. Felden is an anesthesiologist & pain medicine specialist who is currently serving patients at the Aultman Center for Pain Management. With convenient locations throughout Ohio, the Aultman Center for Pain Management offers comprehensive services to help patients manage chronic pain and improve their quality of life. The multidisciplinary team includes board-certified physicians, physician assistants, clinical psychologists, advanced practice and registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists.

Dr. Felden received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences in 1988. He then went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital in 1992.

Dr. Felden is board-certified in anesthesiology with subspecialty certification in pain management by the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. Designed by physicians for physicians, AOA board certification ensures the advancement of clinical knowledge and skills — not just in the beginning, but throughout one’s entire career.

Dr. Felden is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). As the primary certifying body for DOs and the accrediting agency for all osteopathic medical schools, the AOA works to accentuate the distinctiveness of osteopathic principles and the diversity of the profession. In addition to promoting public health and encouraging scientific research, the AOA advocates at the state and federal levels on issues that affect DOs, osteopathic medical students, and patients.

Anesthesiology is the medical speciality concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. An anesthesiologist, like Dr. Felden, monitors the patient’s vital signs: heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, and breathing.

Pain management is a branch of medicine employing an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with chronic pain. As a pain management specialist, Dr. Felden has special training in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of all different types of pain.
