Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Patricia Yugueros, who serves patients in Johns Creek, Georgia.

A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Yugueros sees patients at her private practice, Luna Plastic Surgery. She offers Atlanta plastic surgery patients a full range of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery, with a special interest in breast surgery, and body contouring including abdominoplasty and buttock enhancement with fat transfer, and liposuction. She applies the latest innovative techniques for facial surgery including midface rejuvenation, face and neck lift, and rejuvenation of the hands.

In her clinical role, she specializes in abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, mastopexy, liposuction, breast reduction and reconstruction, buttock augmentation, facelift, and blepharoplasty. She is also the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Emory Johns Creek Hospital and has been for the past nine years.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Yugueros earned her medical degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia in 1988. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her residency in general surgery, as well as her residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery and fellowship in hand surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

DIstinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of many local and national scientific societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She has presented her academic work in several national and international venues and has written extensively and contributed to many journal articles and book chapters in the field of plastic surgery, as well as hand and microvascular reconstructive surgery.

Having received a stellar medical education from all over the world, she has established an illustrious career with extensive training in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. She has special interests in creating beautiful plastic surgery results, without having to compromise on function, while her wonderful staff provides patients with warm and comforting patient care.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

Among her various accolades, Dr. Yugueros has been the recipient of prestigious awards by the American College of Surgeons and the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF) from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

On a more personal note, she is married to Dr. Juan Sarmiento, a hepatobiliary surgeon with a teaching appointment at the Department of Surgery of Emory University. Together, they have two lovely daughters. As a native of the Latin culture, she is one of the few Hispanic plastic surgeons in Atlanta and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
