Get to know Orthodontist Dr. Lisa Grant, who serves patients in Homewood, Illinois. Dr. Grant is an author, mother, mentor to young teens and dental students, and Orthodontist. In 1993, she set out to create a unique orthodontic specialty practice with a vision of delivering unparalleled service, while embracing her commitment to serving families and the surrounding community. Today, her practice – Lisa Grant Orthopedics – is transforming the smiles of patients in Chicago’s South Suburbs and Northwest Indiana. Her patient-first philosophy is a revolutionary approach to guest service that offers a new perspective on building confidence through smiles. Dr. Grant is in partnership with Smiles Changes Lives, a nonprofit that helps children whose families cannot afford the full cost of braces. Through this organization, she is the largest provider in Chicago and Northwest Indiana of free braces to those children who desperately need but cannot afford orthodontic treatment. Back in 2016, she was honored with the 2016 Smiles Change Lives Gini Award for her outstanding commitment and dedication to the organization. Dr. Grant received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Illinois, followed by her Master of Science (MS) degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Grant is a member of several associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society. Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. Dr. Grant’s decision to pursue a career as an orthodontist derived from her own life-changing experience after wearing braces as a teenager. For over 20 years now, she has been recognizing and defining the nature of dental problems, all the while designing an appropriate treatment strategy based on the specific needs and desires of the patient. And in doing so, she aims to elevate her patients’ self-esteem, boost confidence, transform lives, and create opportunities for a successful life. Dr. Grant’s practical wisdom and personal experiences as a mother of two daughters provides additional insight into some of the most common questions from a parent’s perspective.
