Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991, Dr. Young went on to complete his internship at Botsford General Hospital in 1992. This was followed by a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1997. 

Before long, the doctor became board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
