What happens if you get a cavity under a filling?
Most patients think that once you have had a filling, the tooth will remain healthy forever. Sadly, that isn’t the case. Old fillings will eventually crack and break. If you have a chipped amalgam filling, food particles and bacteria will seep into the healthy part of the tooth. Once that happens, new decay will form. It is impossible to brush or floss under old fillings so once the debris is there, it is there for good. READ MORE

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Proud members of the West Hartford community, Dr. Phadnis, and the rest of her dental team are truly committed to making their home a better place for everyone. They believe that education is a vital aspect of oral health, especially for children, which is why they provide a number of free seminars at local schools and daycares about the basics of oral hygiene. They also honor veterans on Memorial Day by providing free dental exams and cleanings to thank them for their service, as well as do a number of holiday giveaways throughout the year.
