Get to know Internist Dr. Philippe Tassy, who serves patients in Hempstead, New York. 

Internist, Dr. Tassy is serving Hempstead and the surrounding communities. He currently practices with his private practice. 

In 1976, Dr. Tassy earned his medical degree from Universite de Montreal Faculty of Medicine. He went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital and a residency in hematology at University Hospital SUNY Health Science Center, in Brooklyn. 

Dr. Tassy is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

As an internist, Dr. Tassy is specialized in Hematology and Oncology. While internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult disease, a hematologist-oncologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of blood diseases and cancers. These are medical issues such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, leukemia and lymphoma. As such he is trained in hematology, the study of blood, and oncology, the study of cancer.

With over 40 years of experience in the field, Dr. Tassy has treated thousands of patients in New York.
