Dr. Tesfalidet, a well-versed internist, has been practicing medicine in the Maryland area before joining Potomac Physicians-Frederick Regional Medical Center in 2001.

Potomac Physicians has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for meeting the highest standards and performance benchmarks in the care of patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, and/or heart disease. It encompasses eight offices in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and surrounding counties, including Bel Air Health Center, CrossRoads Internal Medicine, Frederick Regional Medical Center, Laurel Medical Center, Security Health Center, Timonium Medical Center, and White Marsh Medical Center.

A 1991 graduate of Jimma University College of Public Health and Medical Sciences in Ethiopia, Dr. Tesfalidet decided to continue her training in the United States. Once there, she performed her residency in internal medicine at Cabell Hospital in West Virginia.

Following her training, she attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists.
