Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Dayan K. Gandhi, who serves patients in California.

Specializing in the care and treatment of the kidneys, Dr. Gandhi is a board-certified nephrologist who is a Partner at Renal Consultants Medical Group. He sees patients at the offices in Northridge and Thousand Oaks, California.

Founded in 1982, Renal Consultants Medical Group is one of the oldest and most reputable nephrology groups in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, providing complete nephrology services in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The physicians working there are experts in the diagnosis and management of various types of kidney diseases including those with diabetes, complicated hypertension, glomerulonephritis, dialysis, and post-transplant care. They also provide complete evaluation and management of recurrent kidney stones, urinary infections, blood or protein in the urine.

A member of the American Society of Nephrology, he is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). A 2009 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Gandhi went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center / West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care when the time comes.
