Get to know Neurosurgeon Dr. Scott Glickman, who serves patients in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Glickman is a board-certified neurosurgeon and founding member of the Center for Neurosurgery Las Vegas. He focuses on providing the highest quality care in the surgical and non-operative care of patients with complex neurological conditions and injuries of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.

The doctor also has extensive experience with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, spinal tumors, brain tumors, deep brain stimulators, Chiari malformations and the craniocervical junction, brain recovery, and neurovascular disorders. He is involved in ongoing clinical research on intracranial pressure, spinal reconstruction, multimodal diagnosis and treatment of neuropathy, surgical treatment of hemorrhagic stroke, and the impact of obesity on surgery.

The team at the Center for Neurosurgery Las Vegas believe the forefront of medicine is not only what was learned yesterday, but also what they strive to discover tomorrow. They embrace the philosophies of osteopathic, allopathic, and integrative medicine as a component of care by incorporating holistic methods, patient-centered care, and a multi-disciplinary approach to neurosurgical problems.

Through his academic career, Dr. Glickman earned his medical degree at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at Michigan State University/St. John-Providence and served as Chief Resident at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has completed numerous fellowship programs in neurotrauma, neurocritical care and emergencies, neurosurgery and neurology, vascular neurosurgery, complex spine surgery, and neurosurgical oncology.

A Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS), the doctor is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the use of surgery to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

On a professional level, he is a member of many committees in local Las Vegas hospitals and serves as the Trauma Liaison, Spine Program Director, and Medical Director of the Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit at Mountainview Hospital.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Glickman has authored numerous articles and abstracts, frequently presents at regional, national, and international symposia, and has been involved in resident, medical student, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner education. 

Furthermore, he instructs Advanced Trauma Life Support through the American College of Surgeons and has served on the Ethics Committee of the Neurocritical Care Society and the Exercise Committee with the North American Spine Society, as well as various committees in the American Osteopathic Association and American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system.
