Get to know Pain Management Specialist & Physiatrist Dr. Ryan A. Wetzel, who serves patients in Evansville, Indiana.

A top specialist in the field of pain management & physiatry, Dr. Wetzel’s areas of specialty are nonsurgical musculoskeletal care and image-guided injections. He is well qualified and proficient in joint injections and complex spine injections, as well as enjoys treating patients through alternative injections such as PRP. 

At present, he is in practice with Tri-State Orthopaedics, seeing patients at the Evansville East Side office and the Evansville West Side office in Indiana. “It is a blessing to be back home, providing care for the area that I call home.  My goal is to improve quality of life and alleviate pain.  I try to help my patients to be more active and give them hope” expressed the doctor.

Born and raised in Southern Indiana, Dr. Wetzel earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2005. He then went on to perform his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation & his fellowship in pain medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University.

As an accredited fellowship, the most respected type of fellowship, he was able to obtain board certification in both pain medicine & physical medicine and rehabilitation through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Priding himself on staying up to date in his field, Dr. Wetzel is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation & the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
