Do tight hip flexors cause lower back pain?
Tight hip flexors can absolutely be a major part of lower back pain. Sometimes when the iliopsoas muscle gets too tight or becomes shortened, the increased tension on the lower back can irritate the joints of the lumbar spine, lower thoracic spine, or even the SI joints. Often times, tight hip flexor muscles are not the only reason for pain. If there is some degeneration in the spine from a pre-existing injury, disc herniation, or congenital abnormality, tightness in the hip flexors can compress and irritate these existing issues causing pain that would not otherwise occur. Fortunately, most of the time it is a pretty simple issue to fix with some simple stretches and exercises. Ask your musculoskeletal practitioner about testing hip flexor tension and if appropriate a manual release. There should always be home exercises to do for this also. READ MORE

What are the benefits of going to a chiropractor?
A chiropractor can help you to improve your posture (if it is not the ideal posture for you), help reduce pain (if you are experiencing pain or discomfort), and can help improve flexibility and movement of the neck and back (and other joints). It really depends on whether you have a specific problem you'd like addressed or if you're just interested in wellness. READ MORE
How often should I go to the chiropractor?
The answer to this question depends very much on what is actually causing the neck pain. If it's due to a simple posture problem (which is very common), then a good chiropractor should be able to help you resolve it fairly quickly with in-office treatment and home exercises. If there is something else going on, it might take longer than a few weeks. READ MORE
After running, my ankles get a shooting pain. Can a chiropractor help?
It is likely not coming from a spinal, but a foot problem, although, that is also usually something a chiropractor could help with. A thorough history and an exam would be required to determine the cause of the pain. READ MORE
