Get to know Urologist Dr. Charles D. Best, who serves the population of Washington.

Dr. Charles D. Best is a Urologist currently practicing with Gastroenterology Associates. Additionally he is affiliated with the Grays Harbor Community Hospital and Willapa Harbor Hospital.

Dr. Best graduated with his Medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California in 1992, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. After obtaining his medical degree he completed his general surgery residency with the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, followed by his urology residency from the Stanford University.

Dr. Best is certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology. The mission of the American Board of Urology is to act for the benefit  of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, working with certified urologists to achieve life long learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe and ethical urologic care.

He holds expertise in Kidney Stones and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.

To stay up to date in his field, he remains a professional member of the American Urological Association, Western Section Associate, American Association for Surgery of Trauma, Genitourinary Reconstructive Society, and has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

He has been awarded the Traditional Award of Merit for Comprehensive Kidney Stone Center at LA, the Passionate Performance Award – LAC+USC Healthcare Network recognition in 2010, Patient’s Choice Recognition in 2008, and the Outstanding Faculty Award – Keck School of Medicine in 2003.

A Urologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the male reproductive system, as well as the urinary tracts of both males and females. His profession covers the kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder, adrenal glands, urethra, and the male reproductive organs which include the testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and penis. Some common disorders that urologists treat are urinary tract infections (UTI), stress incontinence, benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, kidney cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and cystitis. These urological specialists also perform vasectomies and vasectomy reversals.
