As the Assistant Director of Family Medicine at Synergy/CMU and a liaison in the Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Morrone has dedicated his career to improving health outcomes in Michigan. He has held pivotal roles as the Medical Director at Queen of Angels Detox and HoM Hospice, where his expertise in addiction medicine has significantly benefited patients and their families. A graduate of MSUCOM, Dr. Morrone completed his internship in internal medicine at Ingham Regional Medical Center and his residency in family medicine at MSUCOM’s statewide campus in Bay City.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Morrone has gained national recognition as a forensic toxicologist, appearing on major networks such as CNN, FOX News, and MSNBC. His insightful analyses, particularly on high-profile cases like the 2016 Prince overdose, have reached millions, raising awareness of the opioid epidemic and the importance of naloxone in preventing overdose deaths. As the author of “American Narcan,” the first book dedicated to community naloxone initiatives and heroin-fentanyl mortality, Dr. Morrone continues to advocate for public health measures that save lives.

Dr. Morrone’s influence extends to his grassroots efforts through Overdose Recovery Radio and his initiatives to provide drug treatment services within correctional facilities. His addiction clinics serve 37 counties and 52 zip codes, making vital resources accessible to underserved communities. With triple board certifications in addiction medicine, family practice, and pain management, Dr. Morrone is a leader in the field, actively educating healthcare providers and the public on the complexities of addiction and pain management.
