A skilled physician, Dr. Yazmajian joined AMS Cardiology in 1996. She practices general cardiology and non-interventional cardiac electrophysiology. Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Yazmajian earned her undergraduate degree at Yale University and received her medical degree in 1989 from the New York University School of Medicine. Her post-graduate work in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease was completed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and 1995, respectively. Finally, she completed her fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Philadelphia Heart Institute in 1996.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology, hospice & palliative medicine, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
