Dr. Willis is an established psychiatrist who is currently serving patients at her own private practice located in Homer, Louisiana. With over 34 years of experience in her field, Dr. Willis has special expertise in child psychiatry.

Dr. Willis received her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport in 1985. Thereafter, she went on to complete her residency in psychiatry at Louisiana State University, followed by fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia and the Children’s Medical Center.

Dr. Willis is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the public interest and the professions of psychiatry and neurology by promoting excellence in practice through certification and maintenance of certification processes.

Dr. Willis remains a distinguished member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP). The mission of AACAP is to promote the healthy development of children, adolescents, and families through advocacy, education, and research, as well as to meet the professional needs of child and adolescent psychiatrists throughout their careers.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behaviour, cognition, and perceptions. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Willis evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with mental disorders.
