Hand Surgeon | Hand Surgery
2111 Midlands Ct Sycamore IL, 60178About
Dr. Ryan Kenny is a hand surgeon practicing in Sycamore, IL. Dr. Kenny specializes in caring for hand, wrist and forearm problems without the option of surgery unless necessary. My interest in hand and upper extremity surgery initially began in my second year of orthopaedic residency during our anatomy course. I developed a keen appreciation for the vast microvascular structures of the hand and the skills needed to perform this meticulous dissection. Further training gave me an appreciation of the impact that hand and upper extremity injuries can have on a patient’s life.
As a hand surgeon, I can use the skills I have developed throughout my orthopaedic and subspecialty training to improve all areas affected by injury including physical, social, psychological aspects. Orthopaedic and hand surgery is ever changing and evolving in patient care. This allows me to continuously learn new techniques and methods of treatment that improve patient outcomes in both the non-operative and operative settings.
My greatest enjoyment comes from seeing a patient’s progression from injury to recovery. Through coordination of patient care with our occupational hand therapists, in both non-operative and operative injuries, I am able to get patients back to their daily routines, whether it be returning to work, gripping a golf club again, or regaining the ability to lift and care for one’s child.
