Dr. Erik Kerekes was born and raised in South Pasadena, California. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a double major in Biopsychology and Biological Sciences. Subsequently, he completed medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, followed by a transitional internship at New York Medical College. He then went on to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency in 2002 and Gastroenterology fellowship in 2005. Dr. Kerekes is certified by the American Board of Gastroenterology and is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology. After 15 years of practice with the premier gastroenterology group in Long Beach, CA, he moved his practice to Newport Beach, CA where he has privileges at Hoag Hospital. Dr. Kerekes is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care in general gastroenterology to his patients. In his free time, Dr. Kerekes and his wife Christine enjoy movies, beach living, sports, traveling and above all, spending time with their two children.
