Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Mark Noffsinger, who serves patients in Michigan.

An exceptional orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Noffsinger sees patients at Ascension Medical Group in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born in Defiance, Ohio, he traversed different corners of the United States, leaving a mark on the field of orthopedic surgery and the communities he has treated. Since 1987, he has been an integral part of Borgess Orthopedics, a practice that has evolved from the Kalamazoo Orthopedic Clinic. His contributions to the medical field extend beyond the operating room – as a Clinical Associate Professor at Homer Stryker-Western Michigan University School of Medicine, he imparts his knowledge to eager medical students and orthopedic surgery residents.

Raised in San Diego, California, and later Anderson, Indiana, his early years laid the foundation for his future accomplishments. His passion for both academics and sports shone brightly during his time at Wabash College, where he not only pursued a football scholarship but also garnered the prestigious Dean Stephens award for his remarkable prowess as a student athlete. Graduating with high honors, he carried his commitment to excellence into his medical journey. 

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Noffsinger graduated with his medical degree from Indiana University, a pivotal step on his path to becoming an accomplished orthopedic surgeon. His dedication was further evident during his residency and internship with Michigan State University through the Southwest Health Education Center in Kalamazoo. 

Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Dr. Noffsinger’s dedication isn’t confined to medical institutions. His involvement in numerous administrative roles at Borgess and Bronson Hospitals, including the Borgess Board of Trustees, showcases his leadership qualities. He also takes up the mantle of Surgical Dyad Leader for Ascension Borgess Healthcare, emphasizing his holistic approach to healthcare management. In addition, he is involved in the community and can be seen as an assistant varsity football coach at Mattawan High School, serving as a Mattawan Board of Education member, or being a Trustee of New Life Church, he is deeply connected to the people around him.

Beyond borders, his altruism can be seen through his involvement in Medical Missions work across Kenya, Uganda, and Honduras. Moreover, he serves as an Orthopedic consultant for prominent names like Stryker, Zimmer Biomet, and Advanced Orthopedic Solutions, reaffirming his influence on the industry.

Outside of the office Dr. Noffsinger’s most cherished source of pride is his family. With his wife Lindsey by his side, they celebrate the joys of their expansive family, including seven grandchildren. A lover of sports, hunting, and boating, he finds excitement in the great outdoors.
