Get to know Pedodontist Dr. Brent A. Tucker, who serves patients in West Carson, California.

Dr. Tucker is a skilled pedodontist who serves on the Adjunct Faculty of the Section of Hospital Dentistry (General Practice Residency) at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in West Carson, California.

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is one of only five level one trauma centers in Los Angeles County and a major academic teaching hospital with nearly 450 residents and fellows in over 34 accredited programs on-site as well as trainees from multiple other disciplines contributing to its mission. The hospital has been the cornerstone of healthcare services for more than 700,000 residents in the greater South Bay area of Los Angeles County since 1946. Its mission is “to put patients first and provide exceptional patient-centered care with the compassion and respect we would want for our loved ones, regardless of the ability to pay.”

Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Dr. Tucker went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California. This was followed by a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Harbor–UCLA Medical Center.

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of the University of Southern California Mentorship Program.

Pediatric dentistry is the branch of dentistry dealing with children from birth through adolescence. A pedodontist or pediatric dentist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the dental problems of children from infancy to young adulthood. They usually care for special needs patients, too.

Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Tucker serves as a swimming instructor, lifeguard, after school tutor, Awana clubs leader, recreational basketball coach, and as a member of a Church youth group.
