Back in 1989, Dr. Ahmad graduated with his medical degree from the Medical University of Plovdiv in Bulgaria. He then relocated to the United States, performing a combined residency in internal medicine and geriatrics at the The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2001.

Subsequent to his training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine and geriatric medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Ahmad is an active member of the American Medical Association.
