Back in 1972, he earned his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University, before graduating with his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in 1976. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 1979, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1981.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE), the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Among his other roles, Dr. Brown can be found on staff at Memorial Hermann, Methodist Hospital, and West Houston Medical Center.
