Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Horacio J. Rodriguez-Jimenez, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

An exceptional hospitalist, Dr. Rodriguez-Jimenez is affiliated with Pioneer Medical Group.

Since 2006, Pioneer Medical Group has been on the forefront of hospital medicine in the regions we serve. They believe hospitalists have a unique vantage point to impact the quality metrics that matter most–processes, outcomes, and patient experience. Today, Pioneer Medical Group is servicing over 10 hospitals and over 20 post-acute facilities. They have also launched a variety of ancillary services, as they have encountered underserved needs in the communities they serve.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Rodriguez-Jimenez earned his medical degree from the Universidad Cetec Santo Domingo Escuela de Medicina in 1982. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency at Albany Medical Center in New York.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. The primary focus is caring for hospitalized patients and co-management with other specialties. Hospitalists take an active part in medical care and ensure a safe discharge for the patients they take care of. They are being increasingly involved in administrative roles, given their expertise and collaboration with various teams in the hospital.
