Dr. Davenport is a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in treating neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adult patients with congenital heart disease. She is the Medical Director and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Pediatrix Cardiology Associates of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Pediatrix Cardiology of New Mexico has been providing a full range of cardiology care for children for more than 25 years. The team of professionals working there are dedicated to providing the most comprehensive pediatric cardiology care, including consultation, treatment, support, and education spanning the life of patients – from fetus through adulthood. 

Dr. Davenport also coordinates the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Clinic – a part of the Pediatrix Cardiology Associates of New Mexico. Dr. Davenport is board-certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Dr. Davenport earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She then went on to pursue her residency in pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital. She also completed her fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, as well as a fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco. Furthermore, Dr. Davenport earned a Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor. 

Trained in fetal and hybrid interventions, Dr. Davenport has treated a wide range of patients, from a 27-week gestational-age fetus with aortic stenosis to an 87-year old with a paravalvular mitral leak. Having performed hybrid Norwood procedures for neonates with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and hybrid closure of muscular VSDs, she is experienced with the most cutting edge interventional cardiology techniques in use today. 

Pediatric cardiology is the branch of cardiology that deals with diagnosing and treating heart problems in children. Paediatric cardiologists are doctors who diagnose and treat children with cardiac (heart) conditions. They work with patients antenatally (before birth), through childhood, and into adulthood.

Outside of work, Dr. Davenport focuses on endurance sports and has completed more than 20 marathons and numerous triathlons. After residing at sea level in temperate areas for the past ten years, she is enjoying the challenge of training at altitude and the many outdoor and winter opportunities life in New Mexico provides.

Jennifer Davenport, MD, MHA, FSCAI, FACC, attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine and received her medical degree in 2001. Furthermore, she conducted her residency in pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital in Miami, FL (2001-2004). In addition, she completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX (2004-2007), followed by a second fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology completed at the University of California, San Francisco (2007-2008). Dr. Davenport received board certification in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology from the American Board of Pediatrics. She also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration degree acquired at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor, MI (2017) and a Bachelor of General Studies degree in Biology and Microbiology received at the University of Kansas (1997).
