Get to know Cardiac Electrophysiologist Dr. Ambrose F. Panico, who serves patients Mesa, Arizona.

Dr. Panico is a triple board certified, fellowship trained cardiac electrophysiologist. He is the Medical Director of Cardiovascular Associates of Mesa (CVAM), operating out of the offices in Queen Creek, Gilbert, and Mesa, Arizona.

Viewing the practice of medicine as a profound honor and privilege, Dr. Panico emphasizes the invaluable physician-patient relationship. His approach centers on recognizing the uniqueness of each patient and crafting tailored treatment plans collaboratively.

Scholastically, Dr. Panico graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Loyola University Medical Center in 2014 and 2018, respectively. 

Furthering his training, Dr. Panico completed an additional fellowship in electrophysiology at Loyola University Medical Center in 2020. 

Board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology, Dr. Panico is a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Panico is an active member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American Medical Association.

Clinical cardiac electrophysiology (also referred to as cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia services, or electrophysiology), is a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology and is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart. An electrophysiologist is a type of cardiologist. They focus on the heart’s timing, or electrical system, and on diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. They are also qualified to perform special tests of the heart’s electrical system, such as an electrophysiology study or an ablation.
