Get to know Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. H. Storm Floten, who serves the population of Oregon. Dr. Floten graduated with his Medical Degree from the Oregon Health & Science University in 1971, giving him over four decades of experience in his field. After obtaining his Medical Degree he completed his internship with Bellevue Hospital Center and New York University. Wanting to further his training he went on to complete his residency and fellowship with New York University. Dr. Floten is dual certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic Surgery (Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery) from the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He currently practices with Starr Wood Cardiac Group and is affiliated with Providence Hospital. He holds an expertise in thoracic surgery and cardiothoracic surgery. A cardiothoracic surgeon is a medical doctor who specializes in surgical procedures of the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest. This includes surgeons who can be called cardiac surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, general thoracic surgeons, and congenital heart surgeons.
