Can working out cause a hernia?
There are different types of hernias that can occur in the abdomen and groin. In general, the muscles layers of your core hold your abdominal organs (like your intestines for example) in containment, and if you injure one of these muscles by over lifting or by straining too hard, a piece of abdominal organ can be pushed into a defect caused by the muscle injury and get stuck, which is the definition of a hernia. How can I prevent baseball injuries?
A good pitcher will spend as much time strengthening his core and lower body as much as his arm and upper body. Different types of planks and rotational exercises will help the core. Lunges at different angles and Nordic hamstring exercises will help the legs. Jobes shoulder exercises and working on pitching technique (rather than power) will help the upper body. Ask an experienced trainer to help you with these exercises. And also live a healthy lifestyle with alcohol in moderation, no drugs, and regular sleep pattern. READ MORE
I have a bad pain in my shoulders after playing handball. What should I do to get relief from the pain?
Hopefully it's just an overuse situation and not an injury. If you put too much strain on your shoulder from overuse or new activity, the rotator cuff can get inflamed. Goals would be to reduce swelling and maintain mobility. So take anti-inflammatory med (like Advil or Aleve), ice your shoulder for 10 minutes at a time (no heat), and try and do slow hanging pendulum circle with your arm to stay flexible. READ MORE

Should I wear an ankle brace?
An ankle brace will likely not prevent an ankle injury if you roll your ankle again, but it may limit the severity if you get injured. Only ankle exercises that work on both balance and strength and good running/jumping technique will prevent ankle sprains. READ MORE
Is it advisable to wear knee pads while running?
The only reasons knee pads might be worn while running is if you have a neurological condition that might make you prone to falling or you are running on some sort of irregular outdoor course where you are at risk for falling. READ MORE
