Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Michelle Quinones-Defendini, who serves patients in Florida.

Dr. Quinones-Defendini is an obstetrician-gynecologist with Women’s Care in Jacksonville, Florida.

Her special interests include gynecologic ultrasound, pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, and minimally-invasive laparoscopy. She also enjoys educating students and residents on topics related to obstetrics and gynecology.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Quinones-Defendini earned her Medical Degree from the Ponce School of Medicine. In June 2012, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. 

Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in obstetrics and gynecology through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), Dr. Quinones-Defendini is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Duval County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Association.

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.

In her leisure time, Dr. Defendini enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, as well as traveling and partaking in new adventures.
