Get to know Nephrologist Dr. John R. Martinez, who serves patients in Brason, Missouri.

Dr. Martinez is a board-certified nephrologist who treats conditions affecting the kidneys such as renal failure, kidney stones, or chronic kidney disease. He practices at Branson Nephrology & Dialysis in Missouri. 

Branson Nephrology & Dialysis is located on Cox Medical Center Branson’s Campus, just minutes from the Branson Landing and Historic Downtown. The team has one goal: go the extra mile delivering dialysis treatment every day. They have decades of experience working with kidney disease patients and performing dialysis treatments. 

A 1985 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Dr. Martinez went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Truman Medical Centers – West. He followed up with a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Specializing in the treatment of kidney diseases, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A proud Army veteran, Dr. Martinez worked at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City to give back to veterans.

Nowadays, he remains affiliated with Cox Health, more specifically Cox Medical Center Branson and CoxHealth Springfield.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. A nephrologist is a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Martinez loves his KC Chiefs and KU Jayhawks. One can find him spending his time off with his family at Table Rock Lake.
